HOWEVER, THE GOVERNMENT HAD PROHIBITED THEM FROM SPEAKING THEIR OWN LANGUAGE FOR ALMOST A CENTURY. SUCCESSIVE GENERATIONS OF NAVAJO MEN HAVE FOUGHT WITH MARINES. THEIR CULTURAL IDENTITY CORRELATED WITH TRADITIONAL MARINE CORPS VALUES.
